Company context library

Company knowledge
Definition

A company context library is the shared, access-controlled body of knowledge that explains how a business works, makes decisions, handles exceptions, and judges good work.

A company context library is not a nicer folder of procedures.

It is the place where the business becomes readable: how the company talks to customers, qualifies work, handles exceptions, makes promises, reviews quality, protects sensitive information, and decides what good looks like.

For an owner-operated company, that knowledge often lives in one person's memory. The context library starts moving it into a shared system so people and AI can work from the same source.

What It Should Hold

A useful context library holds standards, decision rules, examples of good work, approved explanations, access boundaries, and reviewed learnings.

It should not try to become the live project tracker, inbox, or customer record. Those tools still hold today's work. The library holds the judgment that should outlast today's status.
